The month’s are flying by. It’s August already and so far we have had a great summer at Civitas. Last month saw our annual Summer Throwdown and what a day it was. The atmosphere was electric, the workouts were fantastic and we hope you all had as much fun as we did. Shoutout to disco Dave who captured some amazing snaps of the day that can all be found here: https://www.facebook.com/DavidPerksPhotography/photos_by

Well done to our winners, Katie and Issie and Mick and Phil. Afterwards we all headed across town to The Tandoori. Thank you so much to Spaddy and Vic for hosting us. The food was amazing and I think I speak for everyone when I say we had such a good time. Apologies if we were a bit loud.

A huge congratulations to Emily who got married last month. We hope the day was as amazing as it looked and we wish you and your husband a lifetime of happiness.
August, like every other month will bring more competition including Jord taking part in a triathlon as well as Ben competing at South West regionals and others testing their fitness elsewhere. As always we wish you the best of luck. We know how hard you all train and we're sure that hard work will pay off.
The summer holidays is seeing us put on our first kids/teens summer camps which start next week! If, as a parent you fancy a few hours off and want your kids to expend their energy at the gym just hit this link to get them booked on www.crossfitcivitas.com/kids If you have any questions regarding the sessions please reach out and we'll answer any queries you have.
A reminder to all parents during the school holiday. If you absolutely need to bring your kids in to class with you. Please ask first so that we can accommodate and if you can choose a quieter class that would be brilliant.

I hate to look beyond August and into September and the beginning of Autumn but during September we will be running another Free Friend Week. This will give your friends a chance to come and see what we do at Civitas and have unlimited access to our services for an entire week. IF they enjoy it, as per every other FFW, they can sign up and save themselves (and yourself) 40% off a month's membership! This isn't limited, you can sign up as many friends as you want. (and yes, if 2 sign up, thats 80% off). The only limitation is, they cannot be a former member of the gym. More details of this and exact dates will be announced soon.

As far as summers go in the gym it's been great to see you all stay so accountable and continue to train during a time that can be challenging with a lot of outside distractions. In previous years we've seen classes get quieter and people getting into the habit of skipping a class or two over the summer month's but not this year! This is 1 down to your discipline, dedication and commitment to your health and fitness and 2, due to help from our team of coaches who keep you all motivated and keep you enjoying your classes and workouts! So a big shoutout to the coaches as well! Keep it up over the rest of the summer! We have so much to look forward to over the rest of the year but I don't want to get into too much autumn/winter chat whilst we're still enjoying the warm summer weather. Up the Civi's!
MEMBER OF THE MONTH
JAKE BRINKMAN

Mr consistent Jake Brinkman. Jake joined us earlier in the year and since joining has found a routine and barely missed a session. His consistency is paying off as he's seen huge improvements in his fitness and whilst building his engine he's also become more proficient in his weightlifting. It's been great to see Jake's progression since his time with us and he's a big part of the early morning crew at Civitas! This month has been a great month with Jake competing alongside Owen in our Summer Throwdown and he's managed to rack up 21 classes in July! Keep up the good work mate.
